The decision between buying a bike or a scooter can be a tough one. With gas prices skyrocketing out of control, both are a great alternative to a car or sport utility vehicle. Think of where you have to go. How many miles is your commute?
Motorized scooters are good for longer distances and get great gas mileage. They can reach those needed high speeds, saving you time in making your commute. Bikes are a good choice for those going shorter distances. You will never have to put gas in them and you'll be getting good exercise as you pedal to school or work.
Both bikes and scooters are low maintenance and fun to ride around on anytime. You should be able to get a bike or a scooter for a reasonable price. Look around for a used model if you really want to save some money; it isn't hard to find a used model that has been well cared for. Remember that whatever your choice, you should purchase a helmet. There are some crazy drivers out there and you'll want to be protected.
