So maybe to your surprise it's happened your child or maybe relative has finally graduated. You've received your invitation to attend the ceremonies and the graduation party. It's time to find the perfect gift idea. This isn't always easy. If you're my age and still think a Beatles vinyl is the perfect gift then you probably have as much trouble as I do shopping for graduates. You want to give the hardworking scholar something special but what?

Of course for the young lady you'll want to send a nice fresh bouquet arrangement with flowers that represent the freshness of spring and of being a professional. Bath accessories are a timeless classic amongst women in need of relaxation and pampering. For the bachelor maybe something such as a unique home fixture to accent the new place. Don't forget that custom Italian charms are a lasting choice that will reflect personality as well as style. You can get charms with your graduates name on them and have it customized to match his or her year of graduation.

Here are some general tips to keep in mind:

• Consider the recipients taste in flowers, home fixtures, or jewelry tastes and choose accordingly.

• It never hurts to call other family members and friends and see what they're planning to give the graduate; this will ensure your gift isn't redundant.
